For those of you who are cat lovers and enjoy the thought of a holiday in the centre of a medieval, hill top bastide village in a 13th century house, in a glorious climate – this is the place !!!

The house was, originally, the bakery for the village and so we still have the original massive bread ovens in the glass fronted rooms that face the medieval square full of columns and collombage.

The other side of the house looks out onto the Place des Anciens Combattants with its war memorial and a large square that used to house the weekly cattle and sheep market. The house also used to be a hotel and café, so we have a lovely outside terrace where the farmers and guests used to have their drinks. This we now use to serve breakfast in the Summer months as there is plenty of shade from a gigantic wisteria !

We also have a further terrace under the shade of horse chestnut trees, equipped with sun loungers and a table and chairs for eating outside.

Being on the top of a hill, we have lovely views across the valley of the River Dadou to the hills and woods opposite. This is totally unspoilt, old-fashioned, unsophisticated French countryside full of birds, flowers and butterflies.

I offer one very large double bedded room with original beams, painted tiles and medieval stone fireplace ( blocked – so no drafts ! ) It has it’s own big shower and loo in the corner and wash basin with cupboards under. I also offer a twin bedded room, again with ancient beams. The guests in this room have the use of an enormous bathroom - loo, shower and gigantic bath, which is right next door to the twin room.

There are coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms. All bed linen, towels and swimming pool towels are provided.

The house is fully centrally heated for the winter and there is also the joy of a large wood burning stove in the ground floor dining room, where guests take breakfast in the winter months.

Our enormous sitting room is on the first floor – again, original beams, painted tile floor and stone fire place! You are very welcome to join me to watch UK digital telly or use the room during the day for reading, relaxing, watching videos etc. Jigsaws, games, etc. are provided.

I have high speed broadband with wireless network so you can use your laptop from my connection!

From May to September, the local villagers play petanque outside in the square and are always delighted to have my guests join in.

I provide a fridge for guests’ use in which to store food and drinks and guests have full use of china, cutlery, glasses, etc., When I am using the washing machine, guests are more than welcome to fill up the load by putting their bits in as well!
