For
those of you who are cat lovers and enjoy the thought of a holiday in
the centre of a medieval, hill top bastide village in a 13th century
house, in a glorious climate – this is the place !!!

The
house was, originally, the bakery for the village and so we still have
the original massive bread ovens in the glass fronted rooms that face
the medieval square full of columns and collombage.

The other
side of the house looks out onto the Place des Anciens Combattants with
its war memorial and a large square that used to house the weekly
cattle and sheep market. The house also used to be a hotel and café, so
we have a lovely outside terrace where the farmers and guests used to
have their drinks. This we now use to serve breakfast in the Summer
months as there is plenty of shade from a gigantic wisteria !

We
also have a further terrace under the shade of horse chestnut
trees, equipped with sun loungers and a table and chairs for eating
outside.

Being on the top of a hill, we have lovely views across the valley of the River Dadou to the hills and woods opposite. This is totally unspoilt, old-fashioned, unsophisticated French countryside full of birds, flowers and butterflies.
